Baltic Memorial Church was founded in 1942 as Cockerston Temple by Eld. Ishmail Cockerston.  Eld. Cockerston was the pastor and Eld. Micah Davis, his cousin was the assistant pastor.  The church grew quickly because of Eld. Davis' witnessing.  It has been said that Eld. Micah Davis could sell a stick in the mud.  Eld. Cockerston was a dynamic speaker and motivator. Once Eld. Davis got people to the church, Eld. Cockerston would keep them motivated and encouraged to continue in the work of the ministry.

In 1944, Rebekah Light, (who would eventually become first lady Cockerston) joined the church.  She was a dynamic singer with a beautiful voice.  She joined the choir. After a few months of being in the choir, Sis. Light began to share some of her ideas about the choir with Eld. Cockerston.  After hearing her ideas, Sis. Light was appointed as the president and director of the choir. She reorganized the choir. After six months, the Cockerston Temple choir was one of the best choirs in the city of Baltic.

Cockerston Temple continued to grow. Eld. Cockerston was the pastor until 1958 when he retired.  Eld. Davis was installed as the pastor in 1958. Eld. Davis pastored until 1963.  He died while he was the pastor. Cockerston mourned the lost of their pastor, Eld. Davis, greatly. Eld. Davis was very loved by the membership of Cockerston.

The membership of Cockerston grew steadily over the years. Cockerston became a very popular church in the city of Baltic.  The church was active in every aspect of the city.  They helped with social issues in the city.  They helped with economical issues in the city. Most importantly, they helped with religious issues in the city. Cockerston has received numerous honors and accolades from the city of Baltic.

In 1980, under the leadership of Eld. Charles Kindhart, the name of the church was changed to Baltic Memorial Church. There was a service in honor of the name change. A number of city and governmental officials were at the ceremony.

Under the leadership of Eld. Johnson R. Reagan, a praise team was formed in 1984.  They are known as the Baltic Memorial Anointed Praisers. Baltic Memorial was the first church in the city to have a praise team.  The Batlic Memorial praise team has become known throughout the state of Maddocha.  They have sung background to such acts as Power Franklin, Shirl Young, and Ruth Fortson & Color of Praise.  They have even been featured guests at a number of conferences, conventions, and seminars.

Our current pastor, Dr. Waylon Cage, has a burden for people. Under his leadership, the men's, women's, youth, and children's ministries were reorganized to better facilitate Christian growth for the whole family. A program that incorporates teaching sessions, seminars, and outings was established. The programs have been very successful.  Because of the new programs, the church membership has doubled since their inception in 1995.

Baltic Memorial joined the Maddocha Fellowship of Pentecostal Churches in 1991.

Baltic Memorial is on the cutting edge of ministry in the 21st century.  Our pastor, Dr. Cage, believes that to be ready for kingdom ministry in the new millennium, you must be a leader in the church world and in the community. Baltic Memorial is just that, a leader in the church world, and a leader in the community.
